In order to access your music and videos away from the computer running ooTunes (i.e. from your iPhone), you'll need to tell your router and/or firewall to allow it.
To setup your firewall(s) please follow the instructions/links below.
NOTE: As you go through the setup, remember you need to open TCP port '1979'.
-
Your operating system may have a software firewall. Instructions for allowing access through this
firewall can be found here for windows or here for Macs.
-
If you are running a third party antivirus/security program with a firewall (i.e. Norton or MacAfee) you may need to explicitly allow access to ooTunes or to port
1979.
-
Your router or modem may have a firewall. Instructions for allowing access through this firewall based
on what router you have can be found here. Please read the directions carefully, and
when choosing the program to use, use the "Default Guide" to open 'TCP' port '1979'. Good luck!
If you are unable to get it working, get help here by sending information on your operating system, modem or router, and what you've tried.
